Don’t Lose Focus

With the announcement by the President of his support of homosexual marriages, and the outrage expressed from portions (I am sad to say not all) of the Body of Christ, as well as the rejoicing and support that have streamed in for this agenda, I wanted to take a moment and make sure that I remain focused.  We can get distracted and discouraged so easily by the things going on in the world that make it appear that the Kingdom of God is losing ground, but I had to stop and ask myself if that was even possible.  We know that He has already won, and because we are in Him, so have we.  Rather than spend a lot of our energy focusing on the Presidents advancement of the homosexual communities agenda, I eagerly remind myself, and encourage believers everywhere, to develop and cultivate Gods heart for the institution of marriage that He created!!! The importance of developing a Biblical Worldview in the area of our marriages cannot be over emphasized.  As the nation and the world begin to fight even harder for sin and against God, we must make sure that we are firmly rooted in God’s Word.  As believers, we can have peace in any situation we may find ourselves because Christ has already overcome the world (John 16:33).  Now his Spirit lives in us and empowers us to do the same thing…be overcomers!!!  Did you know that the word ‘husband’ is mentioned between 104-110 times in Scripture (depending on the translation you read)?  did you know that each time the word ‘husband’ is used it is always referring to a man?  The word ‘wife’ is used 314-360 times (again, translation).  Each time the word ‘wife’ is used  it is always in reference to a woman.  The first marriage ever…the marital relationship that has been patterned since the beginning of time…was between a man and a woman.  It doesn’t matter what the President says, or what the GLBT community says, Gods word will always remain true (Matthew 24:35).  There will always be those who rebel against Christ and living a life of submission and obedience to Him (Romans 1).  Let’s just make sure we’re not one of them.  This spiritual climate of the world we live in will become so much worse than it is now before the return of the Lord. So I encourage you with the words of the Apostle Paul;  “Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” (Ephesians 6:18) As well as the Apostle Peter;  “Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness. And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight. And remember, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved.” 2 Peter 3:11-15

This video is from three men of God who have been a blessing to the hearts of so many, including my family.  I pray it encourages you in your marriages, or in your prayers for the marriages of others.
