“Mom, Who’s Gonna Write Our Story?”

Posted on

I remember when my youngest son, Jordan Christopher, was three years old he asked a very mature question one afternoon following an impromptu Bible Study. We were discussing the early followers of Christ and how so many of them were martyred. Then we began to talk about Luke, the physician, and how he was with the Apostle Paul on many of his missionary journeys, and that this is how he had the first hand information needed to write Paul’s story. Jordan had been relatively silent throughout our conversation but all of a sudden he had questions. His last question was the one that stuck with me all of these years. My little three-year old was asking more than just who would write our story. We had just finished talking about the amazing lives lived by those who had committed their lives to Christ. We were up to our eyeballs in the historic accounts found in John Foxe’s Book of the 15800Martyrs!! These were real life stories  filled with action and adventure, agonizing pain and torture, peace, joy unspeakable….and love never-ending! He was learning, they were all learning about the lives that we are called to as followers of Christ. Not of comfort and materialistic pleasure, but of discomfort and eternal sacrifice. They were learning about the call to follow Jesus…and the cost paid by those who chose to follow him. The men and women who had laid down their lives rather than deny their Lord were ancient heroes to them, alive only on the pages of Scripture and history books…and that day, when he was three years old, Jordan chose to follow them as they had followed Christ! That day, my son chose to take up his cross and walk the way of a Christian. It amazed me that at such a young age he understood what that meant. I am speechless as I look back on that day. I do not remember if the Sun was shining or if it was cold outside. The only thing I remember is the question he asked, and the answer  that was given. The Word of God is just that, the Word of God. All of it inspired…breathed by the Holy Spirit. These men and women had lived a life worthy of recording. Not because of their wealth, but because of what they did with it. Not because of their poverty, but because of what they did in spite of it. Not because of their health but in spite of their illnesses.  The people they learned about that day, and many days since, were believers whose faith transcended the pages of Holy Scripture and history books and whose love and genuine faith in our Lord had traveled through generations to communicate to four children, one of whom was only three….and he got it that day. By asking the question, “Who’s gonna write our story?”, Jordan was making the statement that his heart was set on living as they did, and even dying as many of them had done. He was affirming that his life was not worth living if it was not worth giving it to the One who had given all for him. I remember one of the verses talked about that day;

Jordan is now 15 years old, and he still pursues the One who has proven to be the answer to the question he asked when he was three. He, as well as his three siblings, have a very different view of what it means to be a follower of Christ than many of their peers seem to. Somewhere during the years of our family reading God’s Word together, and diligently, with the help of the Holy Spirit, their father and I seeking to live out that Word, they grabbed a hold to something real….something True….aomething Authentic! They are not without mistake or fault just as none of us are, but they have a perspective that causes them to draw on the Lord’s strength when they are weak, and to hold tighter to His Word should they fall. The story of their face to face meeting with The Lord is different for each one of them. For Kayla it was in a Sunday School classroom when she was four years old. We were not thoroughly convinced of childhood conversions until we saw the fruit of repentance and the fruit of righteousness in her young life, and we see it still. For Isaiah it was when his big sister sat across the kitchen table with him one day over lunch when she was six and he was five and shared the gospel with him and helped him find his way to the Lord, while mom listened on the other side of the wall. For Leah, it was at a Secret Keeper Girls event that she made her faith known to me and a room full of Princesses….and for Jordan, it was the day he looked at me while sitting on the big blue couch in the family room and asked so sincerely, “Who’s gonna write our story?.” The house is long gone, but that old couch is the same one I am sitting on as I type this. I couldn’t bear to part with it. Not just because of its comfort, but because of its comfort…The pages of Scripture are filled with more than just words…they are filled with life…the Bread of Life…and water…the Living Water…And when served up tp our children for the delicacies that they are they will give them life!!!  Since that day I have watched my sons and daughters grow in God’s grace and learn to ‘walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which they have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” This is the hearts desire of every parent who loves the Lord with everything in them; for their children to love him too. If I could offer you some encouragement, READ God’s word with them daily. Discuss the Scriptures as easily as you discuss whats going on in their lives. When they bring situations that they are dealing with to you, take them to the Word of God and see what God says about it. Give them His perspective as they face the sin sick world that awaited them at their birth. Your opinion will change, but His will not. Your views and advice will mature and vary with age and circumstance. His will not. Show them through the Living Word how to live a life worth being written about. Not for their material things, but for their faith without or in spite of those things. Not for their intelligence and book smarts, but for their unalterable faith despite what the genius of men says.  Teach them to love God with all their heart, soul and strength….and to live their lives in such a way that the Spirit of the Lord will write their story in His Book.

God Bless You….Selena

Beyonce and Spiritual Warfare

Posted on

Believe it or not, many women who consider themselves ‘Christians’ also would describe themselves as fans of Beyoncé’. (I know because I have spoken to many) Hard to believe right? Well even more difficult to believe is the fact that many churches do not teach about the Holy Spirit or Spiritual Warfare. Why would I mention Beyoncé and Spiritual Warfare in the same comment?? Because the existence of the former continues to remind me of the NEED and existence of the latter. If you are listening to, watching, or are permitting your sons and daughters to listen to and watch this self-professed demon possessed woman, wake up and remove this and any other satanically influenced idols (as if there were any other kind of idol) from your homes and your circle of influence!!!!

What Has Happened to the Heart of a Mother?

What has taken place in the heart of a woman that we not only fail to protect our children in the womb, but we are failing or refusing to protect them after they are born???  Oh, we don’t want them to fall and scrape their knee, but a scraped knee very rarely if ever led a child into occultic activities or depression and suicide!! We no longer guard them from the music. We no longer guard them from the images or from the language. Witches and sorcery have become harmless entertainment!!! Our babies are murdered by us daily to the tune of over 3,000 every day!! What has happened in our hearts that we no longer fight for our children lives…for their souls?? What has happened that we no longer fight for our own!!!!!! How has it become the norm for a mother or a father to watch their children become statistics…empty vessels sitting in pews (or chairs) while chasing the idols of this world in their hearts? We dress our daughters in the likeness of the immodest, ungodly women of the secular culture, and our sons don’t appear much better, following the example of those wearing sagging pants and sloppy shirts with tattoos and body piercings all over their bodies.  We have become OK with coed church youth group swimming parties with our daughters in bikinis wrestling in water, and on land, with boys in underwear!!!!! We allow them to ‘lead their own lives’!! They have ipods full of ungodly music, and Facebook pages that we know nothing about the content of because we want them to know that we trust them!! ARE WE SERIOUS????? I trust my kids, but it is this EVIL, SATANICALLY INFLUENCED CULTURE THAT I DO NOT TRUST!!! And I am their MOTHER!!! And it is the responsibility of my husband and I to protect them, even if it’s against themselves.

My, How The Church Has Changed!

There was a time when the ‘town sinner’ would come to church and understand and demonstrate respect for the House of the Lord. If the men had a hat on, they took it off. If the skirts of the ladies were too short, they would feel shame, and the older women would gracefully put a hankee or a sheet over their laps. Any profane communication was on hold until they exited the doors. It was understood that God was gracious, merciful, jealous and just! But today, the level of disrespect displayed by those who wear the Lord’s name while in His House has caused those who would have once been convicted of sin, and repented with broken spirits, to now believe that they are ‘fine’ just the way they are. No change is needed. My miniskirt, low-cut blouse, tight leggings while leading praise and worship, marijuana smell, profane language, lustful thoughts and actions are all OK with God. My blatant disrespect of my husband and refusal to discipline (provide boundaries for) my children no longer disqualifies me from serving tirelessly in the church. The miniscule detail that I am on marriage number three no longer disqualifies me from the pulpit. After all, I liked it so I put a ring on that one…and that one…oh, and that one too! God accepts me just the way I am, and there is nothing I need to do or that I can do to earn salvation, and there is nothing I need to do or can do to keep it.  Bottom line; Our faulty theology and misrepresentation of grace has bred a generation that occupies God’s house but does not know God at all…and that’s just the adults, while the children take notes…

And a great road will go through that once deserted land.

It will be named the Highway of Holiness.
Evil-minded people will never travel on it.
It will be only for those who walk in God’s ways;
fools will never walk there.

Isaiah 35:8

Beyoncé and her large Christian fan base represents a trend in the modern church to be in the world and of it! This trend has amassed an egregiously ungodly influence not just in the world, BUT IN THE LIVES OF THOSE SITTING IN OUR CHURCHES AND SERVING IN OUR MINISTRIES…. As a wife, it grieves me mightily that so many husbands are engaged in lustful thinking whenever her name comes up, and the images of her videos or her Superbowl performance flash across their mind…but not just her. It grieves me that so many are engaged in lust AT ALL!!!

As a mother, one of my responsiblities is to protect my children from things that would turn their hearts from the Lord and from following his ways!! Beyoncé is not alone in this example of evil influence, but she is one of the most recognized and widely worshipped singers of today. And one of the most dangerous! You see, Beyonce goes to church on Sunday!!! The lie that she walks in fellowship with God is told by her actions, while the truth of her demonic possession is told from her own mouth. As such, she influences countless young girls that her lifestyle is acceptable to the Lord…and they will influence their daughters and granddaughters with this Beyoncé’ (pagan) worship.

And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said:

“I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:16-18

Our children need to understand that idolatry has consequences. But now that I say that I am remembering that it is not the kids alone who need to realize this fact! Its moms and dads too.  I remember a few years ago when I was teaching a group of a few hundred girls monthly. The lessons were original ones that the Lord blessed me to write called “Purity Points’, and as you can guess by the title, the topic was PURITY…separation from the love of the world.  The young girls would come back each month and tell me that they tried to implement the boundary setting exercises we talked about in the previous months lessons, only to have their mom tell them they didn’t need to follow that! These girls tried hard to honor the Lord in their daily living, but were discouraged from doing so, many of them, by their Christian parents.  They were crushed at the advice of their mothers, and while many attempted to stay the course, most of them sadly did not! Did you notice that I said mothers, and not moms and dads? You see, most fathers want their daughters to remain pure and undefiled sexually.  It’s usually the moms that don’t see a problem with a little ‘sex appeal’! It’s usually the moms that intervene when dad is concerned that daughters pants are too tight, or clothes are too revealing, and tells him that she’s young, and that there is nothing wrong with showing a little skin!!

“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. John 15:18

A Hospital For Sinners

When the church became a ‘hospital for sinners’ it ceased to be a place of refuge, discipleship (meaning training in righteous living and in how to defend THE faith) and fellowship for the Saints. There was a time when sinners would not, could not sit in the church and be comfortable in their sin, but now we cater to the unrepentant sinner and provide false security in return for a prayer uttered from an unrepentant heart, while labeling those who genuinely love God, have repented (meaning TURNED FROM A LIFESTYLE OF SIN) and are pursuing righteous living with all of their heart, with the Holy Spirit empowering them, as legalists… But that is not what God’s Word says about us!!!

“How much more do I need to say? … They shut the mouths of lions, quenched the flames of fire, and escaped death by the edge of the sword. Their weakness was turned to strength. They became strong in battle and put whole armies to flight. Women received their loved ones back again from death. But others were tortured, refusing to turn from God in order to be set free. They placed their hope in a better life after the resurrection. Some were jeered at, and their backs were cut open with whips. Others were chained in prisons. Some died by stoning, some were sawed in half, and others were killed with the sword. Some went about wearing skins of sheep and goats, destitute and oppressed and mistreated. They were too good for this world, wandering over deserts and mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground. All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.” Hebrews 11:32-40

But we don’t fight to hang on to this identity anymore!!! We quietly slip away into silence while the enemy rages against the Kingdom of the Living God!!! But we are more than this…and so are our children!! And if we do not fight for them who will!!!???  Ladies, we are at war, and the future of our children is what’s on the line. Will we fight for them? In prayer, will we fight? On our knees, will we fight? With tears streaming down our faces, will we withstand the pull to give in and let them be in the world and of the world.  How much do they really mean to us? Are we willing to suffer through their  anger and sullen faces if need be? ARE WE WILLING TO FIGHT FOR THE SOULS OF OUR CHILDREN???? Or does the spirit of Beyoncé win?

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1

Not only is Beyoncé evil, but all sin is evil. She is a representation of the sin that Christ came and died to free us from. If we love Him, and we love our children, we need to guard them from the influence of this woman and any other influence that denies the light of Christ!

1 Peter 5:8 issues this very appropriate warning; “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil.

He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.”

The Gay Marriage Debate Among Children – A Facebook Glimpse

Posted on

My heart BREAKS ALL OVER AGAIN as I read the conversation below.  While the failure to accurately and adequately disciple our children rests squarely on the shoulders of the Christian parents, we have outsourced the training of our children in spiritual disciplines and Biblical standards to churches as well as youth leaders, and as a result, it is fitting that the church share some of the blame for this one! I am OUTRAGED by the sheer brevity of young church goers…sons and daughters of church leaders and lay workers…who have never even heard of the God of the Bible.  Instead of being presented with the Truth that is found from Genesis through Revelation, they have been indoctrinated with atheistic and evolutionary views since they entered a preschool. This indoctrination has managed to massacre the flimsy faith of these children, who have spent an average of 4 hours a week involved in some sort of ‘church’ service as compared with the 7-8 hours a day/35-40 hours a week (if we include extra curricular activities) involved in and around a culture that despises the God they are being told to love. They are told that He is not real, and that there is no such thing as sin. They are told that what is wrong or right  for one may not be wrong or right for another…there are no absolute truths. Jesus is just a man. There are many ways to God. Evolution and the Biblical account of Creation are the same thing… the list goes on.  Where the world is producing disciples as if they have an assembly line on steroids, the Church is producing genuine followers of Jesus the Christ by the incubator methodology.

I have witnessed and been involved in MANY conversations on Facebook concerning the homosexual marriage issue as well as the abortion issue.  This particular conversation involved my youngest son, Jordan, and some other young people who he knew from church, as well as some that he didn’t.  The initial comment was made by someone who Jordan viewed as a friend and brother in Christ, and he felt compelled to comment because of an existing relationship.  While he was a stranger to many of the remaining commenters, he was a friend to the young man whose page the conversation took lace on. I commented in an attempt to extricate him from the conversation.  This disturbing conversation among ‘kids’ continued long after Jordan and I exited. I simply wanted all of you to get a glimpse into view that are held by children that their parents are not even aware of…

*This was a very long conversation with people I do not know. My desire is not to put anyones child on display or to embarrass anyone. The only name shared are mine and my 14 year-old son, Jordan. The comments made by us are labeled. No one else’s comments are.

Initial post (made by 18-year-old youth group member)

Well since the gay marriage things going around i figured i put my view on it. Yes as a follower of jesus it is wrong. Also as a follower it says NOT to JUDGE, to be accepting and to LOVE. Who are we to tell others they can’t love or show affection to the same gender. So yes i do support gays and the right to be married it doesn’t affect me why would i care. I know this opened me up to a lot of bashing and confrontation but oh well.”

Comment 1

The way I see it is this country is ran off of the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES. Not the Bible. The constitution says no where inside of it that it is allowed to be restricted. Separation of church and state my friend. But I Also agree with what you’re saying as well. We cannot control who we love, sometimes it happens. Who are we to tell someone else they can’t love someone?!

Comment 2

Love this I’m sharing it because it is exactly how I feel! How dies it make us any better than the worst people out there if we are quick to judge and take away rights!

Comment 3 ( Jordan)My God my God. Satan has gotten you too! We are not to consult a man-made government or its constitution. We are to be pointing to God’s Word! And His Word Alone. Yes we can say don’t judge and seem loving, but if that statement means let them die in sin according to false standard of LOVE that is not GOD than we HATE THEM.

Romans 1:18-19, 21, 24-32 NLT

But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.
Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.

The Bible cannot contradict itself, since it is wrong it is wrong and to label it right would be to spit in God’s Face.

Comment 4 (made by original commenter)

Sorry Jordan its my belief and im sticking to it. Opinion not fact

Comment 5

Wether you make it legal to be married or not, they will still be with each other. It’s not illegal to be gay. Therefor, we have no power over if they do these things or not, so they are committing this “sin” whether we make gay marriage legal or not. I follow what I do strictly by the bible. But I follow what this country says, strictly by the constitution. I would never do any of these things, so how does these make me corrupted by satan? I’m saying that this is not an issue over right or wrong. If they feel this way, then they have, as you say, been corrupted already, so why does it matter?

Comment 6

We are not labeling it as right, we are labeling it as constitutional.

Comment 7 (Jordan)

… you are corrupted by a false idea about love. God is love and there is no darkness in Him, so if go on living in darkness we do not have the light in us. Homosexuality is darkness. It is a choice to love God, right, So in the same way it is a choice to love a person, right. And who cares what the Constitution says on matters that are to God Alone. The constitution can be amended, God’s Word can’t. But you believe different don’t you?

Comment 8

No, I agree, god is whom we should love above all things. I am also not saying whether I think it’s right or wrong. And I don’t believe it is a choice to love god. I believe you either do or don’t. I don’t think you have any choice about it in any way. Some people are raised that god is a false being. If you are raised like that, then no matter what, your probably going to follow your parents in not loving god. This is about if it is legally allowed by the constitution. Which, at this moment (as you are correct, it can be amended) it is. Now, if it is amended, then I will be completely against it as I am from a legal viewpoint. I follow The Lord and try to help others stay away from sin. But you must understand that it is not always possible. All those murderers? You can’t help most of them anymore as they are corrupted. So if all gay people are “corrupted” then wouldn’t it make me correct to say it is too late for most of them as well?

Comment 9 (Jordan)

Why would you want to say that. Is there not a such thing as prayer and long-suffering evangelism. And why do you want to keep things in the gray when the Bible is crystal clear on it. And the Bible also makes it clear that even pagans steeped in sinful practices and demi possessed people can be freed and saved by Jesus, is that not the hope for them.

Comment 10

Every time I am at church, I pray for those crazed people in this world. But they keep doing it and almost all stay the way they are. None get the slightest glimpse of kindness or belief in the way of god. If the Bible is crystal clear, than why are there tons of religions, each interpreting it in a new way? I am Roman Catholic so it’s pretty upfront. Making gay marriage illegal solves nothing, as gay people will still be with each other. I would love to believe that it is never too late to save someone from sin. But if they do not care or believe in god, then they will continue upon the wrong path? How can. You save those that do not wish to be saved?

Comment 11 (Jordan)

I’m not saying I can friend I’m saying I’ve got to try and let the Lord work. One thing I can’t do is comprise. And the tons of religions (I’m assuming you don’t mean denominations) exist because man’s rebellious heart was intent on constantly coming up with new idols, new ways to sin, and new religious ideas.

Comment 12

And notice how they all believe what they wish? You can’t save someone who refuses to believe that God is real. You can pray and hope God forgives but that won’t save everyone. If we base our country off of our one religion, everything is going to spiral out of control. I’m saying that for the sake of keeping the country together, we need to make it legal. I’m not saying we can’t pray for all that sin and try to save them. I’m not saying we can’t spread the word of God to help others become believers and followers. I’m saying that for the sake of a country that must stay unified, we can’t make it illegal. Just because its legal does not mean that these “corrupted” people can’t be saved or helped.

Comment 13

I think the morals of the Bible are meant to be applied to our lives on an individual level, not a national level. Sure, it’s a spit in God’s face, but so is every sin that you and I do. Sin is sin, my man. All you can do is avoid it on a personal level rather than expect everyone else to adhere to your own moral standards and beliefs.

Comment 14

I do like you though. Not many people out there are knowledgable about their religion. The above may be confusing, as I think I misunderstood the first sentence of your last comment. We all can be forgiven for most sins, just as God forgives for the original sin. And even if their love is fake, is it not the same feeling? It’s the showing that they have a heart. That they have feelings. Is it not God that we should love most? I dont believe it matters much as long as you love him most. I love many guys, but am not gay. Would that love be fake? Or maybe gay people misunderstand that feeling? There are many ways you could look at it. That’s what makes opinions opinions. I did enjoy talking to you though, as you did get me thinking about it.

Comment 15

If being gay was wrong, then God wouldn’t have let people be born gay. You could say, “Satan made them”. Think. If Satan created life, then you also put him on equal standing with God.
Keep religion out of government. If all of America was one religion, then we would base government off of the Bible. At that point, we are a theocracy. We aren’t, so change the government to benefit the country as a whole, and not the individual beliefs.

Comment 16

People arent born gay. It’s a choice. Thats just a lie gay people tell themselves and others to not be accountable. I know many gays who changed and became straight. It is NOT biological.

Comment 17 (Jordan)

One area most of you is wrong is that religion can’t be taken out of government. Men are born religious, not gay, I can have that immoral temptation and fight against it by the Grace of God. Religion is not a term simply for Christianity, no, it is for a set of beliefs that govern a persons life. You are all very religious, but you have a false sense of godliness (accept for you Steffani you don’t seem to). The God of Creation Who created man and woman created that union and that union alone good. But if you say otherwise you prove your religion to be one of MAN being God and what MAN says to be law.  John we all would benefit from a God governed culture and government. We were created by God for God, and what He says is best. Homosexuality is wrong.

Comment 18

And Greene cultures have thrived being based off the Bible. The ancient middle east did before the Muslims came. And yes GOD can save someone who believes a false standard. And one more thing, morality is not simply for a personal level, the nation of Israel in ancient times was governed by the Bible but when they decided to be like the immoral pagan nations they suffered God’s wrath. You all don’t want God’s moral standard to be Sovereign in the U.S. You think God is culturally and socially destructive when in fact it’s us that are destructive. God is King regardless of what we think we’re doing. And HE and HE alone will judge all. I’m just warning of the coming judgement.

Comment 19

Of course religion isn’t just a term for Christianity. It’s a term lumping people who believe in the same god and setting rules to follow that belief. Greek mythology is pretty much a dead religion. Atheism is a lack of belief in a god, not a religion. If you believe, “there is a god”, and end it there, it’s not a religion. There are no guidelines. Like …, I agree that you make a good argument and respect your beliefs. I respect your opinion and give mine in return, but that’s as far as I go. I won’t force my beliefs on anyone else, nor do I judge anyone on their beliefs.

Comment 20 (Jordan)

I understand. But you don’t get it it’s not an opinion. It’s God’s Word. And atheist are religion, the religion is that MAN and MATTER are GOD. Give me God’s word not opinions.

Comment 21

Jordan, I want you to understand that what I’m about to tell you is coming from a saved by grace follower of Jesus Christ, okay?
You cannot expect someone who does not believe in God (whether they are right or wrong) to back up their opinion with God’s Word. You can’t expect someone who isn’t actively trying to live the way Jesus lived to agree with your (or our) Christian beliefs. I’m not saying that homosexuality is good. I’m not saying it’s okay. I’m not saying its not a sin. But I am saying that to expect everyone else to live by our own code of behavior is arrogant intolerance. Avoid the sin in your own life certainly, but preaching to others who probably feel like Christianity and Christian morals are being forced on them that Christianity and Christian morals SHOULD be forced on them is only going to push them away from Jesus.
Galatians 6:4-5 says, “Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else. Each one of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.”
I’m not saying what you believe is wrong, as a matter of fact I agree with you. I’m not arguing the Bible. I’m simply saying that you can’t expect people who don’t want Christianity to live by its morals, values, and beliefs.

Comment 22 (Jordan)

I understand, but I must preach the message whether they listen or not (Ezekiel 3) it’s not my job to save anyone, but to spread the seed and pray that other workers will come behind me and water it. It’s no good to make it legal, it’s sin. It’s lawlessness. I understand homosexuals won’t choose to live by God’s Law, and I can’t make them. I’m not trying to, I’m simply a messenger. Take up morality disputes with the Only Holy Standard of Righteousness, God.

Comment 23

I completely agree with you there, my man

Comment 24

not everyone believes in god its not the matter of church its the matter of rights in a country that has freedom of religion. this country is not run nor is it based on any one religion. so why do we push to have same sex marriages conform to a belief that they personally do not worship. its wrong to force religion on to People who just want to get married. if you think its sin fine its your problem, not theirs. john i thank you for your open mindedness and acceptance. let it be known i am not “gay” but i see no reason why people use religion as a reason to ban gay marriage.

Comment 25 (Jordan)

Do you not understand that the idea of freedom of religion came from men consulting God’s Word. And what do rights matter if they aren’t right. God is God and He decides what’s right. Any nation that walks out of step with Him will feel God’s Wrath

Comment 26

BUT THIS COUNTRY IS NOT RELIGION BASED! it has freedom of religion. it does not mean everyone has religion. and it certainly doesn’t mean that the bible is the only bible. there are hundreds of religions out there and all are accepted in this country. get that straight. and my respect goes to your religion and opinions, but you should respect others as well. your god is your god, your business, your faith. if others do not share in those things then there isn’t anything anyone can do. you do not get to say that those rights are not right based on the bible, because not everone follows the bible so why should they conform to it? let them have their beliefs like they let you have yours. Freedom of religion goes for everyone. not just one religion. not just one view point. but all and all decide wither rights are right. and by right i mean constitutional and NOT biblical.

Comment 27

oh and to analyze your argument even further when you said that freedom of religion came from men consulting gods word, it did not. Fact: freedom of religion came from the founding fathers, who were not religious by the way, who were fleeing Great Britain and other countries who forced its own belief upon its people, and anyone who did not conform suffered severely. And that is what this country is coming to if we do not separate church and state. And that my friend is fact. That is where freedom of religion came from. If believing in a certain religion is someones wish, let not the government or its people condemn you from doing so. if it is chosen to not believe in anything at all it is that persons constitutional right to do so. Constitutional rights are very different from what any one religion THINKS rights SHOULD be.

Comment 28

this seems like a good time to conclude, Lebewohl!

Comment 29 (Jordan)

…are you a professing Christian

Comment 30 (New Participant)

you shouldnt promote a sin…especially when its blatenly stated in the bible. ur right, hate the sin love the sinner, but ur not hating the sin here…people seem to miss that as christians, promoting this is directly against what god says about marriage and what its intended for…

Comment 31

no actually i am not christian thank you. i feel no need to explain my religious views to you. Especially since you have nothing else to argue with my rational logic with your, well, not rational at all. like i said your god your business your faith not everyone believes in your god. so please do not shove it down peoples throat. and for Gods sake open your eyes and see the very real world we live in now. we are not in the dark ages anymore. do not prosecute others one their sexual orientation because of some religious view. and before you say anything else, i want to make it clear that i did respect your religious views until you did not respect others. and you call yourself christian, please.

Comment 32

just dont like people like that shoving their views down peoples throat, ill be the bigger man here and walk away. but thank you for being open minded enough to see its not hurting anyone to have it legalized.

Comment 33

does anyone like toast? answer…I’m going somewhere with this…oh come on some one answer the question! Its simple, yes or no!

Comment 34

yes i like toast

Comment 35

Well you’re not allowed to eat it anymore because I don’t like it…

Comment 36

That makes sense right?… did you decide to like toast or did you just and it like it?

Comment 37

Try it*

Comment 38

k that doesn’t make since. explain

Comment 39 (Jordan)

… I am a Christian. I love God and I respect you, something you can’t understand. I stand on God’s Word and His Word alone. You seem to be very religious yourself, you believe in the Supremacy of the State and liberty being outside of God and in MAN. But none of that matters. And do you honestly think I do this for my health, I stick my neck out for YOU. But you’re not a Christian, that’s something you can’t understand. It’s as simple as this God Created all there is including YOU and He has authority over all, but you don’t understand. You can’t hear. Jesus is Lord. Sooner or later YOU WILL BOW.

1 Corinthians 1:18-25 NLT

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. As the Scriptures say,
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise
and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.” So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense.
But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.
Comment 40
That’s exactly what they’re doing to gays. Just because some religious people don’t like gays, they aren’t allowed to get married.
Comment 41
ahh i see and i completely agree with you kiera. but like i said im going to be the bigger man and walk away from this because no matter how much since and logic i bluntly lay out the blind will never see.
Comment 42 (Original post writer)
Salt and light. How can we be that when we are intollerant? How can we be that when we tell people they will go strait to hell for being gay?
At this point in the conversation, I chimed in to bring things to a close, and to provide a more mature Christian voice. I wanted to help extricate my son from the building drama of this conversation.
Comment 43 (Me)
Children, this is being shared to provide instruction and direction for those who have pledged their allegiance to Jesus Christ. If that is not you, then this does not apply. If it is you, then this applies and God’s Word is sovereign…Christ must be Lord OF ALL including our opinions. Even our opinions have to submit to the Word of God. “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. Don’t participate in the things these people do. For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! 9 For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, for the light makes everything visible.” Ephesians 5:1-14
Comment 44 (Me)
For those naming Christ as Lord…form no opinion outside of God’s Word…“Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.” Leviticus 18:22
Comment 45 (Me)
“Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Comment 46 (Me)
“The law is for people who are sexually immoral, or who practice homosexuality, or are slave traders, liars, promise breakers, or who do anything else that contradicts the wholesome teaching that comes from the glorious Good News entrusted to me by our blessed God.” 1 Timothy 1:10-11
Comment 47
thump thump thump goes the bible. not everyone believes in your bible. if some one wants to act on something you call sin we call life. please stop the thump. im really tired of seeing things like that on my newsfeed.
Comment 48 (Me)
Again, for those who believe in Christ and have received him as Lord, His Word is the ultimate authority in our lives. For those who have not committed to Christ…who have not acknowledged Him as Lord, this is not for you, but I pray for your eventual salvation…

This conversation went on long after Jordan and I bowed out. These children discussed their Buddhist faith, and compared people like my son and I to Muslim extremists. We are the ‘kind of Christians that make the world a terrible place to live’. ‘What the world needs more of is tolerant Christians who believe in their God, but also believe that there is more than one way to God’. With the exception of a few comments, these were high school children, most if not all of whom either currently are active in a church youth group somewhere, or have at one time professed to be Christ followers!!! DO WE SEE A PROBLEM HERE?

Many modern ‘Christians’ won’t see a problem, because they believe as some of these misguided kids believe; that Jesus is a god but not THE God. He’s just one of many.

My silent anguish over this conversation is definitely minimized on paper. It wasn’t that my 14-year-old son pretty much stood alone on Facebook standing for and upholding the standards of God’s Word that bothered me…it did a little, but that wasn’t the BIG thing. It wasn’t that these children postured themselves as experts on the True and Living God and misrepresented Him and His Word that bothered me…well, of course that did as well, but that was still not the BIG thing.  What really got me was the silence of the ‘believers’. This was a very public conversation, hence the many comment from varying sources. With the exception of one or two, he stood alone. And then I realized that this is what he will face, what true believers in Christ will face in the days and years ahead.

I want to leave you with a question in light of all that you know and all that you just read; Where will you be? Ask yourself, and be honest. Where will you be when Christ returns? I don’t mean physically, but spiritually. Where will your heart be when He returns? Will he find you waiting for Him, or enslaved to the world? Will he find you spreading his truth, or believing the lies of his enemies? Will he find you standing for Truth, or wallowing in the waste of the world? Where will you be when all of this settles?

My youngest son came home from a youth group meeting last night and was so grieved that he went to his room and cried out to the Lord for about an hour!!! His heart was anguished with the sin he has seen on a regular basis IN THE CHURCH… He was actually told on FB by an adult he knew from a church we used to go to (when discussing gay marriage) that what we need is ‘more Jesus, and less Bible’!!!!! How do you separate the two?!?!?!? He was grieved over the sin that has gone and continues to go on unchecked…that is permissible in Gods House…at 14 years old, he is grieved…and all of our hearts were heavy this morning…We are saddened over what is going on in the world, but we are heart broken over what is going on in God’s House…. Lord, help your people, strengthen your children, convict us of our sin, and bring our hearts to repentance…….

Below is my response to other believers who are championing gay rights….

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good”. Romans 12:9

We talk so much about God being a God of love…and HE IS!!!! We talk so much about him being a God of grace!!! And HE IS!!! But he is also a God of Wrath and Judgement. We are commanded to actually HATE evil!!! And CLING to what is good…But in our expression of our love for our Holy God, we instead LOVE EVIL and RUN AWAY from what is good!!!! We are calling wrong right and right wrong!!!!

“What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.” Isaiah 5:20

Sin is Sin!! While most who claim Christ seem clear on the sins of lying and stealing and murder (except in the case of the unborn)… the hot topics of homosexuality and abortion are placed in the grey. They are minimized to a matter of ‘personal preference’. If we have no problem with these sins how can we teach our kids not to lie, or not to steal but that it’s ok to take the way God designed for life to be procreated…for the relationship that was set apart in Scripture as the most important one we will have on earth, (a husband and his wife) and twist and distort it in the name of grace…in the name of not judging??? I AM NOT REFERRING TO UNBELIEVERS, I am referring to those who name Christ but DO NOT believe His Word, those who defend the right to sin more than the power we have because of Christ’s death and resurrection…

“When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people. It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning. God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.” 1 Corinthians 5:9-13

“Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.” Leviticus 18:22

My personal preference is to love God and His Unchanging Word more than I love this world and it’s ever-changing rules.

God’s Word will always have the final say..

“You must love the Lord your God and obey ALL his requirements, decrees, regulations, and commands.” Deuteronomy 11:1

If you are going to respond to this, and I want response, bring THE WORD…Not the Constitution taken out of context, not personal opinion that is not supported and backed up and rooted in Gods Word. Our opinions are killing us and keeping us separated from God. The Word of God…ALL of it..even the parts that are hard to swallow…GIVE LIFE!! Share The Word, not your words. Thanks ❤

Since you have heard about Jesus…Live no longer as the Gentiles do!

Quite often the last thing we do as Christian bloggers is the thing we should do the most…let God’s word speak for itself.  We are told to add images to hold the reader’s attention and not to write lengthy posts. We expound and explain and add in our stories and experiences, but none of these are known to change or soften the heart of a rebellious man or woman.  In most cases, though not all, they work to mimic the soft shoe approach of the church today towards evangelism via entertainment.

In an age where it is very easy to be discouraged at the state of those who lay claim to the Body of Christ but who do not live for Christ in any area that is visible, we have seen the uprising of a new era that promotes a lack of accountability and biblical accuracy. ‘The ‘Don’t judge me’ era has birthed unbelieving lifestyles that, in ages past, have brought the wrath of God upon humanity, but today only delivers more inaccurate sermons on grace! If you were to join us for our family study time in the mornings, right now you would find us in Isaiah 15-16, and chapter 6 of Eric Ludy’s Bravehearted Gospel. During our morning discussion today on morality and the lost commitment to church discipline, my oldest son, Isaiah, asked the question, “How do you get your name back from that?”, referring to a church leader or ‘Christian’ living in sin and refusing to repent. Our response was not in regards to re-building your name, but how to maintain a good name from beginning to end…below is what we shared with our kids…PLEASE meditate on this…write it down..commit it to memory…As believers, the Spirit of the Living God now lives in us!!!! If the instructions being issued to the Ephesian church, and every other body of believers, were not possible, they would not have been given!! We can live lives that honor him!!! Do we genuinely want to, is the question…

“With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him. They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity. But that isn’t what you learned about Christ. Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body. And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil. If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need. Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. Don’t participate in the things these people do. For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, for the light makes everything visible.” Ephesians 4:17-31-5:5-10

I believe nothing else needs to be added…

Should Christians use Birth Control?

Posted on

In response to yesterdays post, This Issue of Birth Control, I received a message this morning that I want to share with all of you.

“Good morning. I thought of sharing this with you on yesterday’s topic of birth control. My sister-n-law is in the hospital in th psych ward right now. Admitted yesterday. She’s hallucinating, seeing people, talking to them, they are talking back, etc. She recognized something was happening weeks ago and yet the doctors were clueless. We pulled up her b.c. (birth control) on the internet and everything [she is experiencing] is a result of the depo shot.  Gods plan was to procreate, man’s is to destroy. It has been an emotional road for us because things have been happening to her body for a while now. Her husband pulled up the side effects yesterday and is taking them to her doctor today. She has EVERY single side effect listed, including euphoria. Please add her to your prayers today if you don’t mind.” So, not only did I pray and will I continue to pray, but I will solicit your prayers as well.

After receiving this message my heart was definitely grieved. I personally know many women who have believed the lies and used birth control for years, only to decide that they were finally ready to have children, and then discover that they were unable to conceive.  The birth control had worked so well to prevent their bodies from functioning the way that God designed for so long, that now eggs were not releasing from their ovaries even though they stopped taking the b.c..

The issue of birth control is not a minor issue, but a MAJOR one, and one where believers are, once again, divided.  Though we read verses in the Bible like Psalm 127 :3-5 which says, “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands. How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them!”, many of us prefer to maintain our right to choose when to fill our quivers.  This issue is a hot topic for Christians, and many feel that what they do and what they choose is none of anyone else’s business. We live in the ‘don’t judge me’ era, where some believe they can live any kind of way and choose to not line their lives up with Gods Word and still be considered Christians…and don’t you dare say anything about it!  Some even go to church faithfully on Sundays, but Monday through Saturday choose to live, think and act like those who have never been introduced to the Lord, or who have the same level of awareness of Him that the devil does.  I am so strongly convinced that the area of birth control is one of the areas where we choose to only know Christ as a casual acquaintance instead of Lord of ALL.  When it comes to this subject, all of a sudden rather than the voice of the Lord being the only one we follow, we fall in line with the voice of the world…the voice of the culture… and we exercise our free will, not to follow the leading of the Lord, but our right to choose. After all, it’s my body, and I can do what I want…right? 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says it this way; “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,  for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.”

So let me get this straight…

1. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit

2. I do not belong to myself

3. Because God bought me with a HIGH price (the blood of His only Son) I MUST honor God with my body

So, even though the passage where these verses are found is dealing with fornication, these verses still apply to the whole life of the believer.  Our bodies DO NOT belong to us after we have committed the WHOLE of our lives to the Lord and entrusted our hearts, our lives, our minds, as well as our choices, to HIS LORDSHIP.

 An old article by said it this way;

Christians Use Birth Control?by Randall Terry

Have you ever stopped to think why Christian couples use birth control?

“We just got married and we are not ready for kids. “

“We want to give quality time to the children we already have.”

‘We simply cannot afford another child.”

“I’d go crazy if we had any more kids.”

Do any of these excuses sound familiar to you? Or better yet, are you using any of these excuses?

When I discuss the notion that we should trust God with how many children we should have, I hear the above excuses again and again, plus a multitude more.

I have heard these excuses before — on the doorstep of an abortion mill.

The dreadful truth is that most of the excuses that women give for having their children killed through abortion are the exact same reasons we give for not having children.

At its core, birth control is anti-child. And I am not only speaking about abortifacients such as the pill or I.U.D., but any drug or device that prevents us from having children. When we use birth control we are saying, “No, I do not want children.”

Is it any wonder that the church cannot stop child-killing? How do we expect to defeat child-killing in the world when we cannot defeat child-rejection in our own midst? Jeremiah said if we run with footmen and grow weary, what will we do with horses?

I cannot be too hard on Christians who use birth control. My wife and I fell into the same trap when we were first married. We were told by all of our peers and spiritual leaders that it was the “wise” thing to do. Frankly, we would much rather have a nine year old son or daughter than such wisdom.

In an age of Christianity when we constantly talk about faith, trusting God, God supplying our needs, etc., why can’t we simply trust God for how many children we have?

When we use birth control, we are cutting short our heritage; we are perhaps short-circuiting entire generations of humanity. Consider this: Mrs. Wesley’s thirteenth child, Charles, wrote hundreds of glorious hymns; Mrs. Whitefield’s seventh child, George, was the most prominent preacher in the Great Awakening in America; Mrs. Washington’s fifth child (fifth out of ten) was our beloved first President. If Mrs. Washington had been in some of our churches today, after her third or fourth child half of the women in the church would have told her to get a diaphragm or have her tubes tied! What a tragic loss that would be for all of us.

What do you think when you see a woman with five children? Are you happy or embarrassed? Do you approach her with congratulations or condolences? Do you happily exclaim, “Are these all yours?! What a blessing!” Or do you somberly question,” Are these all yours? You poor thing. How do you do it? I would go crazy.”

The horrible reality is that much of the Church today in America is anti-child. We view children as a burden, a nuisance, an interruption in our lives, a drain on our finances, a sapping of our strength, and on and on.

Many Christians can’t get righteously indignant about child-killing when in their hearts they sympathize with why some women have abortions.

So what do we do? Hopefully, nobody reading this is on the pill or using an I.U.D. If you are, stop immediately. They are abortifacients. If you know someone who is using them be a friend to them and tell them the truth. But furthermore, if you are using any kind of birth control—stop. Leave the number of children you have in God’s hands.

“Oh, but I’ll have 10 kids!” I hear someone exclaiming. With all due respect, you don’t know how many children you will have. Leah had six, Rachel had two, Sarah and Rebekah had one. The truth is, you simply don’t know how many children you will have.

If you have been “sterilized,” seek a medical reversal. I recently met a pastor in Oregon who sold his baseball card collection in order to pay for his wife’s tubal ligation to be reversed. They are rejoicing in the Lord as she enters her seventh month of pregnancy with a child they almost never had.

One final thought; consider the origins of the birth control movement—Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood. Margaret Sanger wanted Christians (among others) to use birth control. She despised our God, and loathed large Christian families. If someone could laugh in hell, she would surely laugh at us. I would like to quote one of the least popular Psalms of our day, Psalm 127:3-5.

Behold, children are a gift of the Lord; The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They shall

not be ashamed, When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

These verses clearly proclaim how we should view our children they are our heritage, our reward. In fact our children are the only eternal possession we have except for our own souls.

God restore to us a respect, a love and a desire for our most precious possessions — the fruit of the womb.

After receiving the above message this morning I began to look into the side effects of the Depo-Provera Shot, which is what the  woman referred to in the message is suffering from. According to Planned Parenthood website;

The birth control shot is an injection of a hormone that prevents pregnancy. Each shot prevents pregnancy for three months.

The shot is also known by the brand name Depo-Provera, or by the name of the medicine in the shot, DMPA.

Like other methods of birth control, the birth control shot releases a hormone — progestin — into the body. Hormones are chemicals made in our bodies. They control how different parts of our bodies work.

The progestin in the shot works by keeping eggs from leaving the ovaries. Pregnancy cannot happen if there is no egg to join the sperm.

Making cervical mucus thicker. This keeps sperm from getting to the eggs

Birth Control Shot at a Glance;

A shot in the arm that prevents pregnancy

Safe, effective, and convenient

Easy to get with a prescription

Lasts for three months

Costs $35–$75 per injection, plus any exam fees

Did you read that? Safe, effective, convenient.  The side effects are also listed on the site, but they are minimized. After listing all of the side effects, inquirers are reassured that this form of birth control as well as ALL forms of birth control are safe, effective and convenient.  Do you know what else wears the same tags as birth control? Abortion. They are both described as safe, effective and convenient. For those of us who are believers…who have committed our lives to living to honor the Lord, Jesus Christ…who have chosen to lay our will down at His feet and live out His will for our lives instead…for us, choosing to go against Gods will and His Word is never, has never been, and will never be safe, effective and convenient. Obedience to God’s Word is the only way to live.

“So God created human beings in his own image.
    In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it.”  Genesis 1:27-28
