While watching the DVD, Setting the Record Straight, American History in Black and White, I began to research some of the information I was learning by looking things up online. I was amazed and blessed by the rich history that was being revealed by Wallbuilders LLC. While I had watched this before, there are so many things that I saw and heard this time that I missed before. I realized that in light of the increased racial tension in our country and the faulty information we are given from our history books, our media, and even our own ancestors, this information was something I desperately wanted my children to know. As a people, black and white and every color in between, we owe it to our children to search out truth and present them with it…even if it goes against what we previously thought to be true. The history of blacks in this country is so much more than we even know, and the more I learn the more I want to learn and the more I want to teach.

When I see generations who have been taught that we descended from monkeys, and that blacks descended from the dumbest, strongest apes, I am not surprised by the way that our culture has deteriorated. “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” (Proverbs 23:7 KJV) WE have heard the saying, “You are what you think”. Well never has that been more true than in the case of evolutionary teaching. As we indoctrinate the world with this false and evil ideology, we witness the breakdown of the restraint of humanity. No longer behaving as humans, but seeking to satisfy our ‘animal’ instincts! We think that evolutions influence is limited to the arena a science, but they have greatly impacted the arena of history as well! In order to pass evolutionary thinking as fact and the intent of our founding fathers, history has had to be rewritten and the Godly Heritage of our founding fathers erased. Sixteen African-American men served in the United States Congress during the Reconstruction period.

Many of these people also served as members of the state conventions by which the Fourteenth Amendment was ratified.

Despite their centrality to Reconstruction’s experiment in multi-racial democracy, they are largely forgotten.

Despite their special perspective on the meaning of the Reconstruction Amendments, by which basic civil rights and civil liberties are defined and protected in the United States, their voices are largely ignored in constitutional jurisprudence.

Reproduced here are the speeches they gave in debates of the Civil Rights Act of 1875 and the Ku Klux Klan Act.
